The Norwegian Seafood Council is responsible for marketing Norwegian Seafood and has built up the world's most comprehensive database of global seafood consumption, based on several different data sources and analyses. This database is available for the Norwegian seafood industry through different products and services and serves as a competitive advantage in marketing efforts. The department ensures that the campaigns strengthen consumers' attitude towards Norwegian seafood products. NSC is now looking for a Chief Analyst, Seafood.
Chief Analyst, Seafood
As the Chief Analyst, Seafood, you shall ensure that the NSC is the leading source of seafood market insight. You will be responsible for ensuring that all analytical work provided by the seafood council is of the highest level of quality. The Seafood Council must always be leading its competitors through pinpointing trends and development in the markets and it is therefore expected that you have a high level of analytical skills. You are always seeking to create better and more relevant analyses and you have excellent implementation skills. You will be responsible for delivering market analysis to the Seafood Council's various stakeholders, providing strategic analysis, documenting the impact of the Seafood Council's market investments and sharing this insight internally and externally. You will be employed in the Tromsø office, however depending on the candidate some flexibility will be considered in terms of work location.
In order to succeed in this position we beleive it is important that you have completed higher education in social sciences or economics - equivalent to a masters degree is required as a minimum. You also have completed education with specialist competence in one or more fields of analysis. The ideal candidate has experience in linking analytics from different disciplines. You like to be in charge, and you lead and direct others, keeping the team focused on objectives. You enjoy selling and negotiating, find it easy to influence others and win their support. You come across as confident and self-assured even in unfamiliar situations and groups and you feel at ease during presentations and formal events. You communicate well on a professional level in English and one Scandinavian language, both orally and written. A willingness to learn Norwegian can be considered. You take good care in following procedures and always respect rules and regulations. You see jobs through to the end and pay close attention to quality issues. You quickly grasp complex issues and problems, identify the core of a problem and evaluate information thoroughly. Furthermore, you really enjoy working with concepts, models and strategies, and you like and seek intellectual challenges.
